Designer Scarves Telling Stories
Le Châle Bleu (The Blue Shawl) – French Designer Scarves Telling Stories
All of Le Châle Bleu’s creations – warm and lightweight shawls; large, soft scarves; silk twill carrés and small silk bandana scarves – are imagined and hand-drawn in France by the Brand Designer: Ania Axenova, an illustrator and artistic director who is passionate about textiles and fashion design.
Ania’s creations uncover a universe where disparate worlds meet: her Muscovite origins and Parisian influences are reflected in her designs and choice of fabrics. All of Le Châle Bleu’s scarves are conceptualized according to one very precise rule: the design must remain visible whichever way it is worn.
These are not simple ‘2D picture scarves’ but true works of art that tell a story. Each original pattern has its own story: an imaginary tale that is printed in a small chapbook accompanying all scarves.
Le Châle Bleu’s creations are made in accordance with an ethos of slower, healthier, more ethical, and more responsible fashion. The fabrics (silk, cashmere, wool etc.) are carefully chosen; the manufacturing is carried out in keeping with and by valuing the local savoir-faire in Italy’s Como region - the kingdom of fabric printers, where the Italian love for silk and centuries of know-how achieve an unparalleled standard of quality.
